The state’s first Halcyon-Elite was installed at Bhagwaan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre on July 21, 2022. This machine can deliver radiation therapy in 3 minutes instead of 15 minutes because of the gantry speed of 4 rpm. Dr. Nidhi Patni, Director & HOD Radiation Oncology Department, said, “This is the hospital’s fourth linear accelerator. This machine is useful for administering treatments such as Rapid Arc and IGRT.”
Shri Navratan Kothari, Chairman, stated, “Due to the high capacity of this machine, patients will not have to wait for treatment.” Smt. Anila Kothari, Senior Vice Chairperson; Shri Vimal Chand Surana, Managing Trustee; Dr. Prem Singh Lodha, Treasurer Trustee; Maj Gen S C Pareek (Retd), Executive Director; and doctors & technicians from Radiation Oncology department and other were also present in the inaugural event.
