The department of Medical Oncology offers state-of-the-art treatment facilities for patients suffering from acute lymphoblast leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma, breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, hepato-biliary and pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, prostatic, urinary bladder, and kidney cancer. The department, in collaboration with radiation oncology, is engaged in concurrent chemo radiation of head and neck cancer, cervix cancer, Esophagus, lung cancer etc.
The Hematology department is engaged in the treatment of difficult hematological disorders such as myelodysplasia and plastic anemia etc. Stem cell transplantation facilities are in process and will be functional soon. We have a dedicated ward for patients suffering form Acute myeloid leukemia
Adding to the convenience the patients the department offers chemotherapy in day care which has more than 60 beds and is open from 9.00 am till 9.00 p.m. This concept has been encouragingly welcomed by the patients and their care givers. It is most convenient, as patients can return home the same day and is also less stressful particularly for children.
Department also facilitate treatment for most pediatric cancers via its separate Pediatric Hematology Oncology cell. Clinical trial facilities are also available for Phase I, Phase II, Phase III Indian and international studies. Isolation ward for neutropenia patients with barrier nursing facilities is an add on where as emergency services are available round the clock.
Department further assists in providing super specialist doctors including cardiologist, endocrinologist, gastro oncologist, psychologist & nephrologists & neurologist.
