Ostomy Clinic

Ostomy is a life-saving procedure where the waste from the body is allowed through a surgically created pathway called “stoma” from the abdomen, and into a prosthetic “ostomy bag”. At BMCHRC, our specialists not only provide services for all kinds of Ostomies, but they also train patients and their attendants in ostomy care. Alongside this, the specialists also provide the required counselling for ostomy as well.

The procedure for ostomy at the clinic follows this pattern

• The ostomy patient must be referred by the surgeon for ostomy care.
• The patient must get registered at the OPD Counter of BMCHRC for ostomy care. The registration will be free.
• Clinic will provide free care services as per the instructions of the treating surgeon.

For an extensive outreach to cancer patients, the services of the clinic are available to both BMCHRC patients and patients from other hospitals.
