In 1997 when I was teaching at Sophia school I came to know of a lump in my right breast. I went to SMS hospital and got it operated upon and had the breast removed, My elder daughters wedding was scheduled after a month and was undergoing chemotherapy treatment. I lost my hair due to it and people used to look at me in a perplexed manner who had no hair and who had her breast removed.

But my family was my strength and I did not lose my patience to cancer and I advise other also not to do so. Today there are transplants and breast prosthesis available. So if a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer it’s not the end of life.

Two years back I felt a lump in my thighs and when I came to BMCHRC I was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. I have two daughters of which one is in Delhi and other in Mumbai, they told me to come to AIIMS or Tata Memorial Hospital for treatment but when I compared the facilities I came to know that the same facilities are available here also. I decided to get my treatment done at Jaipur and am satisfied with all the staff especially the nursing staff and medical staff. Dr. Lalit Mohan Sharma has been very kind an cooperative, lastly, I would like to say that cancer is curable and people should not be afraid of it.
