Ghanshyam Datt, a 66-year-old who belongs to Laxmangarh, Sikar and has a small family including his wife and four children, runs a small grocery shop for his living. From a very early age, he was fond of chewing tobacco and as the years passed in 2006, he was standing at that stage of life where one never imagines to see themselves as he was diagnosed with Cancer. Due to his ignorance, from past 8-10 months he had severe pain in his mouth due to which he had to suffer a lot and then one fine day, he decided to consult a doctor in Ajmer. The doctors recommended him to visit Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (BMCHRC), Jaipur as it is one of the leading Cancer specialty hospitals in the state. At BMCHRC he met Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta who took charge of him and assured him the successful treatment, stating that this is a battle that he has to fight bravely with full confidence and win over it. Cancer surgery followed by treatment including radiotherapy and chemotherapy took around 6 months to conclude and now Ghanshyam is totally healthy, fit and free from cancer. After successfully fighting from such a deadly disease Ghanshyam now inspires a lot of people to stop consuming tobacco as it could completely ruin one’s life.
