Breast and Cervical cancer are the two most common form of cancer for women in India. Especially after the age of 45, when menopause hits, women tend to develop a higher risk of getting these cancers. Two of the most recommended tests internationally, for the early detection of these cancers, are the mammography and Pap smear tests respectively. Early detection is important in these cases because both these diseases have a high cure rate in their early phases, with an easy treatment cycle as well. For years now, BMCHRC has been organizing free tests for both these days on the last Saturday of every month, at 2 PM. Under Annual Surveillance and Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer program till now 889 women got free checkup (worth Rs 9,12,680/-) till March, 2023.. Here is how you can associate yourself with this program:
  • Register yourself for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer program by filling up a form
  • Inform the program desk of BMCHRC of your intention to visit and fix an appointment.
  • Visit the hospital on the appointed day – the tests will be done and reported.
  • The screening program is of value only if you are willing to undergo screening every year as you may never know when cancer may appear in the postmenopausal period.
Here are the statistics of the program so far:   Under Annual Surveillance and Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer program till now 917 women got free checkup (worth Rs.9,24,280/-) till June, 2023.
