Annual Surveillance & Early Detection Of Breast & Cervical Cancer

Breast and Cervical Cancer are the two most common form of Cancer for women in India.

About the Project

Breast and Cervical cancer are the two most common form of cancer for women in India. Especially after the age of 45, when menopause hits, women tend to develop a higher risk of getting these cancers. Two of the most recommended tests internationally, for the early detection of these cancers, are the mammography and Pap smear tests respectively. Early detection is important in these cases because both these diseases have a high cure rate in their early phases, with an easy treatment cycle as well. For years now, BMCHRC has been organizing free tests for both these days on the last Saturday of every month, at 2 PM. Under Annual Surveillance and Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer program till now 897 women got free checkup (worth Rs 9,24,280/-) till June, 2024..
